The first chronograph was designed in 1882 and in 1887 TAG Heuer patented an oscillating pinion that is still utilized by many watch manufacturers. TAG Heuer is referred to as ''Swiss Avant-Garde since 1860". Since 1860, the brand has focused more on the performance as they believed in quality over quantity. Based in La Chaux de-fonds, Switzerland also has their watchmaking factory situated in Cornol, Switzerland. "Oscillating pinions" bought a revolution in watchmaking technology back in 1887. These pocket watches were keyless, ensuring the innovative strategy of the brand right from the start. The first patent introduced by TAG Heuer was in 1869. Their journey of providing innovation and high accuracy started with the founder Edouourd Heuer who manufactured the company and was overtaken by TAG groups in 1985. Founded as Heuer back in 1860 and renamed as TAG Heuer later in 1985, TAG Heuer established its roots as one of the most important Swiss brands around the globe.
